I've discovered that this mansion only looks like a nice place to live. The accommodations are good, outstanding, even. The food is excellent, the beds are comfortable, and there's a lounge downstairs with televisions and a full-service bar... I don't drink normally, but it's impressive nonetheless.
And at the same time, we have to put up with all sorts of strange and annoying things. For the past couple of days I've been hearing music everywhere I go... the kitchen, the lounge, my own bedroom even! It's not particularly good music, and after the first hour or so it was positively awful. It's showing no signs of stopping, and in fact I think it's gotten louder. On top of that the whole place has become infested with these... creatures. For all intents and purposes they appear to be human, except that they're only about six centimeters tall and have functioning wings growing from their backs. Most of them are harmless, and some of them are even friendly, but there are just as many who seem to enjoy causing as much irritation to us as possible. I caught some of them rearranging the things in my dresser, and there are a few who keep following me around and trying to braid my hair. |

Something very strange is going on here. I went to bed last night after coming back from the training grounds with Lee, and when I woke up… or rather, when I opened my eyes, I was standing in front of an enormous mansion.
It looks like some sort of resort, or perhaps the residence of a daimyo – in any case I’ve never seen anything like it in Kohona. This is either Gai-sensei’s ridiculous idea of a joke, to get me to “relax and invigorate my youthful spirit”, or I’ve been captured and am under some sort of genjustsu. It’s also possible that last night was an illusion, and I’ve only just come out of it… in which case there’s no telling how long I’ve actually been here.
Regardless, I’m going to assume that this is unfriendly territory and remain on guard. |
